Metronome

Keep perfect time with accents, subdivisions and tap tempo.

How to practice with a metronome

  1. Choose a tempo where you can play the exercise perfectly — even if it feels very slow.
  2. Each click is one beat. The first beat of the bar is accented so you always know where “1” is. Press the space bar to start and stop.
  3. Use subdivisions (2× for eighth notes, 4× for sixteenths) to hear the notes between beats.
  4. Use tap tempo to find the speed of a song: tap along with the beat a few times.
